Elizabeth "Beth" Stiveson Delaney

Beth Delaney is a 1983 graduate of Wheelersburg High School.
 
 After high school, Beth attended Shawnee State Community College and earned an Associate Degree in 1985 becoming a respiratory therapist.  She returned to Shawnee State University earning an Associate Degree of Nursing in 1987.  She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Ohio University in 1997 and her Master’s Degree in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Kentucky in 1999.
 
 Beth began her career in 1984 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland, Kentucky as a respiratory therapist.  Her nursing career began in 1987 at Mercy Hospital in Portsmouth and continued at Chillicothe Medical Center.  In 1990 she went to work for King’s Daughter’s Medical Center.  After becoming a family nurse practitioner, she continued her career at King’s Daughter’s Medical Center where she was also the Continuing Medical Education Coordinator and a Clinical Educator.
 
 In 2006, Beth joined the faculty at Ohio University Southern where she has served as a nursing instructor, Interim and Associate Director of Nursing, and Associate Professor of Nursing in both the Associate and Bachelor’s Degree Nursing Programs. She has received numerous teaching awards at OU Southern.  Beth and her husband have provided a scholarship for a nursing student at OU Southern for 10 years in memory of their daughter Rachel.
 
 Beth has authored or co-authored eight nursing education journal publications regarding innovative teaching strategies for nursing students.  She has also provided presentations on Brain Based Learning Principles at numerous state, regional and national conferences.

Beth is married to Paul Delaney and they are the parents of two children, Paul Jr. (14 years of age) and Piper (10 years old).
